2018 Deer Season

The winter in 2018 has been terrible. January and February were some of the coldest on record here in NC. Thank goodness things are starting to thaw and the maple and dogwood trees are starting to bud.

It's only April and many hunters are thinking about turkey season.

This is also a great time of year for some late season scouting. All the rain makes spotting trails that much easier. You can also keep the trail cameras running and take inventory of the bucks that made it through.

Spring is also a great time to shed hunt. Stay close to the feeding areas and concentrate on southern facing slopes. Creek crossing and fence crossings are also spots were antlers can fall.

I am making an effort to keep the content flowing at deerpros.com. I just recently posted one of my longest articles. The review of hunting flashlights tip the scales at just over 3000 words.

I also plan to review other deer hunting like rangefinders, trail cameras and backpacks. Archery equipment like SpotHogg sites, broadheads and archery targets will also be reviewed.
